Don't Bother

I was ready for a night of nostalgia, got invited to this event last minute and so we didn't really know much about it. But hey, emo music from our middle school/high school years? Yes please! When we arrived, we were all expecting a live band to be doing covers of these songs. Nope, just someone with a laptop and a few hype men. They also brought in extremely obscure guests from bands few people if any knew and played questionable songs that the crowd was not excited about. At times, the show was very awkward and quiet. And the sound went out for a few minutes at one point and people actually booed. It would have been less terrible if the song selection had been better. But they missed so many of the greats and some that they included had us asking ourselves, does this even fit the genre?? And the canned music they played wasn't even that loud. Overall it was extremely disappointing (oh and expect to pay about $15 for one tallboy drink) We collectively agreed that hanging out at home with our Spotify playlists playing would have been a better experience.
